Non-locking Low Mass Male RCA connector
This is our high quality RCA Non-locking connector. By contrast, a locking plug is large and bulky. Locking plugs and any others that have a lot of mass compromise the sound quality. The large mass causes phase errors, smearing and induces eddy current distortion. We have developed a new plug with significantly reduced mass that is not a locking plug. If you look at the attached photo, you can see it is slim and sleek. There is even a saddle in the middle that reduces the amount of mass. We are finding it provides a significant improvement over locking and other bulky plugs. The low mass (of metal) principal we believe was originally created by Eichmann who make the fine Bullet RCA connector.

Our President (of L A T International) prefers this plug over even our own excellent locking plug. Construction materials of the two are the same. It has a Teflon insulator and accepts cable diameters up to 9.5mm (3/8"). Many RCA connectors are stamped out of sheet metal, are not rigid and will resonate from vibrations. Ours are rigid, machined from a solid billet. They provide for the best electrical connection.

Most RCA plugs made by our competitors that we have seen, are made of brass with gold plating on top. Brass which only is 67% copper is not a very good conductor of electricity and consequently there is a performance sacrifice. Ours are made of an alloy that is 90% copper and then plated with gold. (One hundred percent copper would be too soft for this purpose). The ten percent of tin added to the alloy gives it the required strength and hardness. Because it is mainly copper, it conducts electricity far better than those of our competitors. It is more costly to produce, but it is truly a premium connector. There is no better RCA connector; yet we price ours far below ones offered by other high-end companies.
